This is the ninth year that Equator has worked with the celebrated all-women Nyampinga cooperative. Located near the border with Burundi, the cooperative offers training in agronomy and quality control to its members and year after year their progress is evident. Equator found this year’s lot to be delicate yet memorable, with notes of violet, honey, and kumquat. We tasted rhubarb, hibiscus, and honey, with a papaya aroma, a blood orange acidity, and a punchy, clean body.

Every coffee we share has been tasted and recommended by our expert Tasting Panel who have years of experience in specialty coffee. We cast a wide net, trying hundreds of coffees, keeping an open mind to new regions, processes, and roasters, and going through many rounds of cupping. If there was an easier way of choosing each coffee, we wouldn’t want to do it. For exclusive weekly coffee suggestions from our panel, join Fellow Drops!
