In the Bona Zuria region of Ethiopia, Tsegab Ayele and his family run the Demeka Becha washing station perched on a hill; their ideal location means that they can process cherries from up to 10,000 local farmers who work nearby. The family purchases and processes coffee at the site, expertly managing the fermentation, washing, and drying of the coffee. Their care and attention to detail has resulted in a truly remarkable cup of coffee.

Every coffee we share has been tasted and recommended by our expert Tasting Panel who have years of experience in specialty coffee. We cast a wide net, trying hundreds of coffees, keeping an open mind to new regions, processes, and roasters, and going through many rounds of cupping. If there was an easier way of choosing each coffee, we wouldn't want to do it.
