The experience

At Don Joel Micromill in Costa Rica, producer Allan Oviedo and his son Ignacio have built a reputation for exceptional coffee, with Allan’s lots routinely placing in the prestigious Costa Rica Cup of Excellence.

This lot features Villa Sarchi, a natural mutation of Bourbon discovered just 10 miles from where Allan grows coffee today. Rarely cultivated outside Costa Rica, this distinctive variety undergoes honey processing to develop a sweet, satisfying, and layered cup.

We tasted notes of toffee, coffee cake, golden raisin, and date, with a smooth body and lingering, sticky-sweet finish.

🌎 Origin: Costa Rica

Fellow's Unique Selection Process

Every coffee we share has been tasted and recommended by our expert Tasting Panel who have years of experience in specialty coffee. We cast a wide net, trying hundreds of coffees, keeping an open mind to new regions, processes, and roasters—going through many rounds of cupping. If there was an easier way of choosing each coffee, we wouldn't want to do it.For exclusive weekly coffee suggestions from our panel, join Fellow Drops.
