The experience
This signature house blend of Latin American coffees provides Bold Bean’s espresso in their cafes. A versatile staple, it’s ideal for milk-based drinks or French press, with just the right balance of comforting and complex notes. We found a caramelized pecan fragrance and tasted sugar cane, roasted nuts, red berries, and milk chocolate, with a punchy body and a juicy acidity.

Brewing Guidance

Pour-Over Recipe

Using Stagg [X] Dripper 

Ratio: 1:14.4 

Coffee: 25 g 

Water: 360 g 

Bloom: 50 g for 30 seconds 

Pulse Pours: After the bloom, pour two slow steady pours of 140 g each, then gently swirl the brewer and let the coffee drawdown. All water should be poured by 2:15. 

Total Brew Time: 2:30-3:00 

Special Tip: Add 30 g of hot water to your finished brew. This dilutes it to an ideal concentration and prevents over-extraction that can occur during later stages of the brew process.   

French Press Recipe

Ratio: 1:15 

Coffee: 25 g ground coarse (setting 9 on Ode Gen 2) 

Water: 375 g 

Steps: Pour 75 g to bloom, gently swirl, and let sit for 30 seconds. Then pour remaining 300 g of water and stir gently. At 3:30, remove the lid and give the coffee a gentle stir. Plunge slowly, finishing at 4:00. 

Aeropress Recipe

Ratio: 1:10 

Coffee: 20 g ground fine-ish (setting 1 on Ode Gen 2) 

Water: 200 g 

Steps: After rinsing your filter, invert Aeropress, add coffee, and bloom 30 g for 30 seconds. Add remaining 170 g with one quick pour, stir, and screw filter onto the brewer. At 1:15, flip the brewer onto your cup and slowly press plunger down for 30 seconds, finishing just as it starts hissing. 

Total Brew Time: 1:45

Espresso Recipe

Ratio: 1:1.89 

Dose: 18 g 

Yield: 34 g 

Brew Time: 34-38 seconds
